GRAPHIC DESIGN FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you can find out everything you need to know about my graphic design service. I have separated everything into clear sections which should answer any questions you might have. However if you still can’t find what you need here then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Every graphic design project is different depending on which service your require and the details of your brief.

Therefore each project is quoted individually as required, however to give you a rough indication, my hourly rate for graphic design work is £35.00 per hour.

For a free no obligation quote please contact me.

This will depend on my current workload which changes constantly throughout the year, I can sometimes start on a project within a week.

However, at busy times of the year I sometimes have to take bookings a month or so in advance. So my advice (if you are thinking of hiring me) is to get in touch as soon as you can, and well in advance of your required deadline.

The best thing to do is drop me a quick enquiry and I will let you know when I can start, I usually reply within 24 hours* if you contact me Monday to Friday between 9am – 5pm.

*Please note I do not work weekends or bank holidays.

Yes absolutely, I do not undertake printing in-house but I have established relationships with several great printers who I have worked with for many years. I will happily obtain a quote for you and oversee the arrangements.

I ask for a 50% deposit (which is payable by Cash, PayPal or Bank Transfer) before starting work on your project.

The remaining 50% is payable upon completion before the final artwork files are released to you.

I always estimate time scales in my quotes, I cannot give an indication here as every project is different depending on your exact requirements.

Please get in touch with a brief outline of your requirements and I will happily give you a quick ballpark estimation of time and cost.

Firstly, this is a very rare occurrence.

Sometimes I will get the design perfect first time, however sometimes it can take a number of rounds of feedback and revisions before we have a final design.

I always aim to ensure that my clients are very happy at the end of the project and that I have worked to the highest standards possible within the confines of the timescales, brief and of course the budget.

But, the cold hard facts are:

  1. Deposits are non-refundable.

Projects are often front loaded, meaning that the majority of the work I need to do is often right at the start of a project with less time required towards the end of a project refining designs and preparing files etc. As such the deposit I ask for goes some way to covering me for the sheer amount of time I invest at the start of any project and as a result it is non-refundable.

  2. Until a project is paid for in full then the Copyright to any and all ideas I conceive or concepts and designs that I create remain my Full Copyright.

However, as long as we maintain good communication throughout the project and a proper brief is given at the start, then there is no reason that any problems should arise.

If you are in any way unsure, I would always advise that prospective clients look at a designers portfolio before hiring them and read their reviews.

If you like what a designer has created previously then there is a good chance that you will like what they produce for you.

It is also a good idea to look at a designers reviews or testimonials from previous clients.

You can also have an informal chat or ask the designer questions about your project before going ahead.

I am very easy going, approachable and patient so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
