WEB DESIGN FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you can find out everything you need to know about my website design service. I have separated everything into clear sections which should answer any questions you might have. However if you still can’t find what you need here then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Everyone has a budget, and price is often the deciding factor for many people so I have put this information right at the top.

If budget is your primary concern then you can find guideline pricing clearly laid out here.

Every website project is different, so I cannot state specifically here how long your project may take, however, on average the new website development cycle takes about 4-6 weeks.

It can sometimes be quicker but I would need to know exactly what is required to estimate delivery times.

The timeframe for development will also depend largely on my current workload.

So, please get in touch and I will be happy to give you an idea of how long I think your specific project will take.

Step 1 – Client meeting, either face to face or via video conference.

This is where we will discuss your requirements and budget.

Step 2 – Proposal and Deposit

Based on the facts gathered at our meeting I will submit my proposal for your new website. Upon acceptance a 50% deposit is required before I start work.

Step 3 – Design, Layout and Feedback

Once your initial design is ready I present it to you for approval. I then make any revisions based on your feedback and once finalised I move on to development.

Step 4 – Development

I begin work on developing your website, we will discuss progress at key stages and you will have access to the testing and development area.

Step 5 – Deliver

Once the final website is approved, you pay the due balance and we celebrate the launch of your new website!

Yes of course. I simply reserve the rights to post screenshots and a description in my portfolio.

No. I have designed  websites for clients all across the UK and even other countries. If a face to face meeting is not possible we can use video conferencing to discuss your project.

An updatable website is a website with a back end content management system (CMS).

You can use that back end administration area to edit the content of your website yourself, if you wish, after launch (and perhaps some training if required).

I ask for a 50% deposit (which is payable by Cash, PayPal or Bank Transfer) before starting work on your project.

The remaining 50% is payable upon completion before your new website goes live.

That depends entirely on my current workload at the time. These days I am finding that I am often fully booked out with projects up to 1-2 months in advance.

That said, you may drop lucky and I might be able to begin work almost immediately, so it is best to get in touch (via email) to ascertain when I would be able to undertake your project.

I will help you to purchase suitable hosting for your new website.

In 99.9% of cases your website hosting provider will be able to provide you with email accounts, often free as a part of your hosting package. I would be happy to help you with this.

I can register and/or manage your domain names on your behalf, you will of course remain the registered owner.

It is usually best however, if we register your domain name through your hosting company so that everything is kept in one place.
