Modern Logo Design Project
Hey, my name is Martin Williams and I created this Modern Logo Design. I am a veteran logo designer with over 25 years professional experience. Below you will find an example of my work, more can be found in my portfolios, thank you.
The Challenge:
Falling Coast were looking for a logo which is in keeping with the principles of leading outdoor activity brands. Their primary product, modular paddleboards, broke down into three parts. So ideally they wanted their logo (emblem) to match this by consisting of three components. They requested that the logo and logotype be simple yet powerful.
My Thoughts:
I am really pleased with this one, it was a fun project to work on and the final solution fulfilled the brief perfectly.
As usual I created several options for the client, some which included actual visuals of paddleboards and paddleboarders (see below for a couple of examples of the alternatives I created), however, in the end they opted for this solution that instead features a literal falling coast line.
I like this logo because it has some really neat subtle imagery and hidden aspects. Firstly if you rotate the logo anti-clockwise slightly you will see an “F” shape (the company initial). Secondly, I love how coastline is communicated here so subtly with the addition of the wavy lines at the bottom of the emblem, so that the motif looks like rocks jutting out of the water.
