Case Study: Full Brand Identity & Signage for Billingham and Co Estate Agents

In the competitive property market, an estate agency’s visual identity must inspire trust, professionalism, and immediate recognition. Billingham and Co approached me for a comprehensive rebrand to elevate their presence both on the high street and online.

This extensive project encompassed a complete overhaul of their visual identity—including a new logo, colour scheme, and brand guidelines—alongside the rollout of custom social media graphics, corporate team illustrations, business stationery, and a full suite of highly visible property signage.

The Challenge:

Estate agents rely heavily on local visibility. The primary challenge was to design a modern, striking brand that would stand out effortlessly on crowded residential streets while maintaining a sophisticated, approachable corporate image.

Additionally, the brand needed to seamlessly bridge the gap between physical curb appeal (like ‘For Sale’ boards and shop fascias) and the agency’s digital footprint, ensuring that every touchpoint felt like part of a unified, premium service.

The Design Rationale:

Logo & Brand Palette The foundation of the rebrand is the new Billingham and Co logo. By shifting to a sleek, dark grey background, I created a canvas that allows the vibrant cyan blue and magenta pink overlapping roof motif to pop dramatically.

The clean, modern typography ensures immediate legibility from a distance, which is crucial for moving traffic passing by street-level signage.

Corporate Illustration & Social Media A core component of the digital rollout was humanising the brand while maintaining strict visual consistency across the agency’s social channels. Custom stylised illustrations were developed for each member of the sales team.

Working carefully from reference photos, each agent was illustrated in a matching grey jacket and crisp white shirt or blouse. This approach ensures that as the team grows, new members can easily be integrated into the existing corporate style.

These custom portraits were then utilised within flexible social media templates, empowering the agents to post cohesive, on-brand updates daily.

Signage & Physical Assets The physical assets needed to command attention. The bold new colour scheme was applied to all exterior signage—including intuitive, icon-driven graphics for key drop-off and collection points—as well as the core property boards (For Sale, To Let, and Sold).
